What do the different shoe categories above mean ?All of our staff are experienced runners themselves meaning our knowledge comes from first hand experience. Frank and his team will ensure that you are matched with a shoe, appropriate for your foot and running gait (style), and our professional service will help you to choose the best shoe from our range to match the needs of your feet. The guide below should help you understand the various types of running shoe available, but for a proper fitting and our free gait analysis, please come and visit us at our store in Plymouth. Shoe TypesMotion Control
For runners whose suffer from excessive over-pronation of the foot. Runners with a flat foot tend to have highly mobile and unsupportive feet which can roll excessively (over-pronation). Motion Control running shoes offer a greater level of inside (medial) support, a flatter sole to provide a broader base of stability for the runner and cushioning for the impact of the foot-strike. Shop from our Motion Control range. Neutral Cushioned
For runners whose feet require no additional support through the gait cycle. Neutral shoes offer the optimal rear to forefoot cushioning whilst retaining torsional support in the mid-foot. They help to lessen the shock of impact between the foot-strike and push-off, and help direct the runner's foot to move in the most efficient line from heel to toe. Shop from our Neutral shoes range. Structured Cushion
Designed to stabilise the foot and reduce over-pronation. Runners who's feet roll too far inwards require a level of rear and/or forefoot stability to help prevent a number of common overuse injuries. The structured cushion shoe offers a combination of design features to help guide the foot through to an efficient foot-strike. Shop from our structured cushion range. Supportive Cushion
Designed for runners who suffer form a slight over-pronation of the foot. The supportive cushion shoe is very similar to the above Structured Cushion, only that this classification offers less restrictive support for runners who only suffer from a slight over-pronation of the foot. Shop from our supportive cushion range.
