What does our gait analysis involve ?
Our Gait analysis involves you running on our treadmill. In some cases we will simply need only watch the way that you move, looking in particular at your feet, ankles, knees and hips. Our staff are also trained to offer video gait analysis, where we set-up a camera behind our treadmill and record film of your gait cycle. We look at slow motion and freeze frames from the video so we can carefully assess your running style.
Gait Analysis is availlable at a fee of £10.00.
The £10.00 fee is redeemable against footwear if purchased.
NB. Please note that booking for this service is required.
Why should you think about having a gait analysis ?

Pronation is the movement of the subtalar joint (in the base of the foot), that causes the sole of the foot to turn outwards. Overpronation (or hyper-pronation) is quite a common problem and can lead to a number of injuries in runners.
Supination, on the other hand causes the sole of the foot to turn inwards. Oversupination (hyper-supination) is far more rare than overpronation but still causes problems for runners, because in this position the foot is less able to provide shock absorption.
What are the different shoe types available ?
All of our staff are experienced runners themselves meaning our knowledge comes from first hand experience. Frank and his team will ensure that you are matched with a shoe, appropriate for your foot and running gait (style), and our professional service will help you to choose the best shoe from our range to match the needs of your feet.
